Nairobi, Kenya (PANA) - Nothing dramatic happened in the Kenyan Premier League as Western Kenyan teams - Mumias Sugar and Nzoia - fastened their grip on the national event.
Both, sponsored by sugar milling companies, are leading the standings in their respective zones.
Mumias, one of the most consistent institutional teams in the country, are perched atop the Zone A standings with 28 points from 12 matches.
Former national champions, Tusker, are in the second spot with 23 points from 12 matches, while reigning champions Oserian Fastac, are third with 20 points from 10 outings.
In Zone B, Nzoia is still leading with 31 points from 11 matches, followed by Mathare United with 24 points from 10 matches. Newcomer Kenya Pipeline (KPC) is third with 23 points from 12 outings.
Attention is now turning to the senior national team, Harambee Stars, who are preparing for this weekend's friendly match against Nigeria.
