Lusaka, Zambia (PANA) - The Zambian government has expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which funds given to the Football Association of Zambia for the upkeep and allowances of national team players during the Cup of African Nations were used.
Sports minister Norman Chibamba says government is particularly unhappy with the receipts and other documents that have been submitted to it to account for the lump sum of money amounting to 1.8 billion kwacha (418,604 US dollars).
The money was part of the contingency funds that were disbursed by government to meet the cost of sending the national team, Chipolopolo (Bullet), to the Cup of African Nations held in Mali in January-February.
