MELBOURNE, July 1 Asia Pulse - Australia's Biotech Genetic Technologies Ltd (ASX:GTG) has announced plans to expand an AIDS research project acquired by its 60-per cent owned subsidiary Immunaid Pty Ltd.

GTG said it was in talks with a major United States life sciences company that had expressed interest to support GTG and to participate in the research project.

Immunaid was formed in March 2001 to acquire a project on immunodeficiency linked to retroviral infection, which was under way at the University of Western Australia.
