TOKYO, July 1 Asia Pulse - A growing number of Japanese women are working on a part-time basis, many of them after losing their permanent jobs.

In May, women working under employment contracts of more than a month and less than a year jumped 130,000 from a year earlier, increasing for the fourth straight month.
