JAKARTA, July 1 Asia Pulse - The Indonesia's Ministry of Agriculture since June 25 has banned imports of all cattle-related products from countries affected by mad cow diseases.
Director General for Cattle-Breeding Sofyan Sudradjat, said at the weekend that the import ban applied to products related to cow, goat and sheep.
The import ban also applied to meat and embryo, cement, heart and extract, livers and meat and bone meals, Sofyan said.
He said the decision to impose such an import ban was a follow-up of the conference of the International Animal Health Organization in May.
Among the countries affected by mad cow diseases are Germany, Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Britain, France, Finland and Austria, he said.
