ISLAMABAD, July 1 Asia Pulse - The government has allocated an amount of Rs 71 million (US$1.19 million) to conduct a mining feasibility study on an evaluated block of Thar coal-field in the current fiscal year.
On completion of this study, the block would be offered for international investment through competitive bidding preferably for power generation, official sources in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources said on Friday.
In the first phase, two power-generating plants of 300 MW capacity each, will be completed in one year.
