TEHRAN, July 1 Asia Pulse - Some 490,000 job opportunities have been created in Iran over the past Iranian year (ended March 20, 2002), Iran's Minister of Mines and Industries Eshaq Jahangiri said here on Sunday at a seminar on occupation.

Pointing to 3.2 million people who are currently unemployed, Jahangiri predicted that the number of the unemployed will reach 900,000 to one million by the end of the Third Development Plan.
