KOCHI, July 1 Asia Pulse - For years India's main competitor in the cashew kernel market has been Brazil, the birth place of the product, but recent trends show that Vietnam is emerging as a major contender in the sector, a top official of the Cashew Export Promotion Council (CEPC) of India has said.
Labour in Vietnam is cheaper and the productivity higher. Besides, it has the advantage of modern processing centres which enabled that country to become a major competitor during the last 10 years, Sasi Varma, CEPC Secretary told PTI here.
