Barbara Lister-Sink, NCTM, artist-in-residence and professor of piano at Salem College, North Carolina, received the MTNA Frances Clark Keyboard Pedagogy Award for her video, Freeing the Caged Bird--Developing Well-Coordinated, Injury-Preventative Piano Technique, at the recent National Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio.
"It is a pleasure for MTNA to present Barbara with the second annual Frances Clark Award," says MTNA President Dr. R. Wayne Gibson, NCTM. "Over the years her video has become an important tool, helping a countless number of performers who suffer from keyboard-related injuries."
Lister-Sink has performed as soloist and chamber musician throughout the world. She is recognized as a pioneer and international leader in the field of injury-preventative keyboard technique. She was a faculty member and performer for the First World Congress of Arts and Medicine in New York City.
