The idea for Lotus grew out of Wendy Getch's love of yoga. The store at 1919 1/2 Morrill St. in Sarasota's Towles Court shares a wall with Body and Soul Yoga Cooperative. Besides yoga clothing, which Getch had trouble finding elsewhere, practitioners can get bath salts, incense, massage oils and yoga literature.
Chimes hang from the ceiling and handmade blue and rust-colored porcelain Neti pots used in the yoga cleansing process decorate the windowsill.
Apparel for men and women is intentionally subtle and appropriate for aerobics, spinning and running, as well as yoga, says Getch.
