Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon says his country is in a war against terrorism, a war that must be fought without compromise. In a brief televised address to the nation, Mr. Sharon said the terrorism is directed by one man, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. Mr. Sharon made the comments Sunday after two suicide bombings killed at least 15 Israelis and wounded scores of others. The militant group Hamas claimed responsibility for the deadly bombing of a restaurant in the Israeli port city of Haifa. The other attack was carried out in the West Bank Jewish settlement of Efrat, near Hebron, and left several people wounded.
