There are three Director candidate openings on the National Board of Directors: one Director - Eastern' Region and two Director-at-Large positions. All three positions are for the term 2002-2005. We encourage you to take the time to read about the candidates for these positions prior to casting your vote. All NACM members of record are invited to vote to elect the two Director-at-Large candidates. in addition, members of record in the Eastern Region are invited to cast one vote to elect the Director-Eastern Region.

For the positions of Director-at-Large

Ken Minton, CCE is Manager Credit Southeast Region for CEMEX, Inc; a manufacturer of cement, concrete and aggregates used in construction and highway products. Ken has been associated with credit and collections in the construction industry for more than 21 years, and has spent the last 11 years at CEMEX. Since 1986, Ken has been active with NACM Florida Gulf coast, serving on its board in various capacities, culminating in serving as chairman from 1990-1992. He is a founding member of the Florida improved construction Practices committee (ICPC), which is recognized as the leader in legislative issues affecting business credit. Ken is currently serving as chairman of the Florida ICPC. NACM Florida Gulf coast honored Ken as their 1992 credit Executive of the Year, Ken has been an avid supporter of education, serving as a speaker and participating in seminars and regional conferences for most of his professional career.

In 1990, he attended NACM's Mid-career School program and that same year earned the certified credit Executive (CCE) designation. He successfully completed the NACM Graduate School of credit & Financial Management (GSCFM) program in 1996. Ken presently serves on the National Education committee of NACM and is an editorial advisor on the development of the book, Principles of Business Credit, the most comprehensive textbook for the credit professional. Ken is also recognized as a Certified Expert Witness to testify in court on preference claims. He served a three-year term on the National Board of Directors, from 1994 until 1997. Ken holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.

Marjorie Dyrnes. CCE is the President of Select Management, Inc., a company providing food service crew to the Oregon Department of Forestry and catering services in Portland, Oregon. A long time member of NACM Business Credit Services (Portaland), Marj is an active participant in the area of credit education and an advocate of the credit profession. She has served on several committees locally, including the Membership and Education Committees. She has taught CAP and ACAP courses for seventeen years. She has served on the NACM Oregon Board, with her volunteer service culminating with the position of Chairman from 1998-1999.

In 1987 and 1988, respectively, Marj achieved both the Credit Business Associate (CBA) and Credit Business Fellow (CBF) designations. She earned her Certified Credit Executive (CCE) designation in 1992. Marj is a strong proponent continuing education, having completed the national Mid-Career School and the Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management. in 1996, she earned the Certified Expert Witness certificate.
