Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - Nigeria's President Olusegun Obasanjo has said the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) offers an all-embracing solution to Africa's problems, rather than merely tackling economic issues.
"NEPAD is unique in a different way," Obasanjo said while answering a question, during a media programme on Sunday night, on whether there is enough political will among African leaders to ensure the success of the initiative.
Obasanjo is a co-author of the programme, which was launched by African leaders last July to help bail the continent out of its present economic and social quagmire.
He said the continent's political leaders had realised that to be able to move the continent forward economically, there must be peace and security, democracy and the rule of law, good governance, human rights and eradication of corruption.
