Cape Town, South Africa (PANA) - Peta Thornycroft, the correspondent for South Africa's Mail & Guardian newspaper, who was arrested last week in Zimbabwe on charges of violating the country's new media law, was released Sunday night.

Her lawyer, Tapiwanashe Kujinga confirmed that High Court judge Mohammed Adam ordered police to free Thornycroft, saying there was no reason for her continued detention.
