There have been numerous reports of life-threatening episodes after inhaling or ingesting baby powder. Many cases occurred during a diaper change when an adult was present. Talc can cause pneumonia, inflammation of the airways, and even death. In addition, some research suggests a possible link between talcum powder use and a higher risk of ovarian cancer.
