GREENPEACE URGED TO HELP MONITOR INDONESIAN ILLEGAL LOGGING.
NUSA DUA, Bali, May 29 Asia Pulse - Indonesian Minister for Environmental Affairs Nabiel Makarim has urged Greenpeace to assist the government in combatting illegal logging, which is destroying the country's tropical forests.
"Basically we welcome Greenpeace's presence in Indonesia and I will call on them to support us in dealing with illegal logging," Nabiel said after meeting with Greenpeace activists today.
Greenpeace is one of a number of international non-governmental organizations participating in the 4th Preparatory Committee Meeting which is to be the last round of talks prior to the World Summit on Sustainable Development in South Africa in August…
