Gary Stern has opened Nontando at 6574 Gateway Ave., Sarasota.

Nontando, which means "full of love" in the African language of Xhosa, offers a selection of African artifacts for the home and for gift-giving. Every item is handmade and imported from Africa.

Products include stone and wood carvings, drums, jewelry, kitchenware, baskets, figurines, musical instruments and more.

Store hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
