PORT MORESBY, May 20 Asia Pulse - Environmental crusader Greenpeace has claimed a victory in the fight to save the third-largest of the world's ancient forests in Papua New Guinea waters today.

The environmentalists, including 11 Australians, last week occupied a logging ship and prevented it from loading logs from the controversial Kiunga-Aiambak project.

Greenpeace said the week-long occupation of the Hua Yang in PNG's Western Province - which included three protesters attaching themselves to the ship's crane - was carried out at the request of some landowners.

The PNG government tried to take away the logging permit from the project's owner…
