Freddie Mac and Cenlar FSB have formed a new private-label servicing option for members of America's Community Bankers that allows them to originate mortgages without the expense of a servicing infrastructure.
The arrangement includes both subservicing and servicing purchase scenarios.
The initiative is the latest step in an alliance announced in February between Freddie Mac and the ACB that is designed to bring more choices and secondary market benefits to members of the trade group.
Under the agreement, ACB members are able to originate a range of mortgages and manage the servicing of the loans through two options offered by Cenlar, a New Jersey-based subservicer.
