On April 10th, a three-judge panel of Ohio's First District Court of Appeals unanimously struck down as unconstitutional a long-standing state law that, for all practical purposes, has prevented peaceful private residents of the Buckeye State from carrying concealed firearms for personal protection.
Article I of the Ohio state constitution states that "the people have the right to bear arms for their defense and security." Writing for the court, presiding Judge Mark Painter declared: "We believe they [the framers of the state constitution] meant what they said."
