Hewlett-Packard's HP x1100 represents the new entry level in the company's graphics workstation line. The x1100s are based on the Pentium 4 processor with DDR 266 memory, and come with up to 1GB of RAM. (HP will make 2GB of RAM an option this summer.) CPU speed options include 1.7, 1.9, 2, 2.2, or 2.4GHZ.

HP is no longer developing the fx graphics accelerators for its Pentium-based workstations, but the company is offering a wide range of both 2D and 3D graphics card options from all the expected players, including ATI, 3Dlabs, Matrox, ...
