President Bush says it is up to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat to make it clear that his government does not support terrorism. Speaking from his ranch in the U.S. state of Texas Saturday, Mr. Bush said Mr. Arafat should do more to prevent the recent spate of suicide attacks, including the latest blast in Tel Aviv. The U.S. president said Mr. Arafat should say publicly, in Arabic, that the violent attacks on Israeli targets should stop. U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell later spoke by phone to both Mr. Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Details of the talks were not available.
