Police arrest 20 demonstrating students in Accra.

Accra, Ghana (PANA) - Riot police on Tuesday dispersed thousands of demonstrating students from polytechnics in Ghana after they blocked traffic in Accra and marched through the heart of the city to press demands for a review of their grading system and other grievances.

The windscreens of three police patrol cars were smashed with stones while the students broke louver blades of some windows of Accra Polytechnic.

Kofi Kesse Manfo, Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, said 20 students were arrested and three were injured.

He said the students were arrested when they insisted on entering the Castle, the seat of government, to begin a hunger strike …
