Monrovia, Liberia (PANA) - Morocco is expected to convene another Mano River Union (MRU) peace talks in April, Liberian President Charles Taylor said Friday in Monrovia.
The first Summit involving MRU member countries - Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia - and chaired by Morocco's King Mohammed VI, ended Thursday in Rabat, on how to ease tension in the region.
Taylor fresh from the Rabat meeting, said the second Summit would enable MRU leaders to review progress of the "Rabat Communique," which he signed 27 February with Presidents Lasanna Conte of Guinea and Ahmad Tejan Kabbah of Sierra Leone.
He said the three leaders agreed to re-activate and implement the Conakry Protocol, which forbids the use of each other's territory for insurgency.
