A recent report on a governance framework for Namibian state-owned enterprises (SOEs) has suggested thsome of them be privatised, a Labour Resource and Research Institute (LaRRI) representative announced on Thursday. The institute said in a media statement the report indicated that privatisation has been debated and successfully implemented in various African countries in the 1980s and 1990s. Quoting the report, the LaRRI said: "This issue is of great relevance to Namibia, which now after several years of commercialisation, plans to move towards privatisation of several state-owned enterprises".
