MANILA, May 1 Asia Pulse - The Philippine Port Authority (PPA) Board has been convened to tackle President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's directive to ascertain a logistics program that would reduce shipping costs.

The President directed Agriculture Secretary Leonardo Montemayor to work with PPA, during a speech before the 4th Mindanao Food Conference, in which she acknowledged the food industry's complaints over high sea transport rates.
