TOKYO, May 1 Asia Pulse - Japan imported 239.77 million kiloliters of crude oil in fiscal 2001, down 5.8 per cent from the year before, according to preliminary data released Tuesday by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Crude oil imports dropped for the first time in two years on sluggish demand amid the weak economy, marking the biggest decline since the 7.4 per cent decrease in fiscal 1985.
