ZAMBOANGA CITY, May 1 Asia Pulse - A Korean construction firm has expressed interest in developing Santa Cruz Island, located in front of the local port here, into a first class island resort.

"They will put up a similar pattern like Dos Palmas dito sa Sta. Cruz Island," Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA) Regional Director for Mindanao Operations Carlito Serrano said.

He reported that the group visited Sta. Cruz Island last Friday morning for sightseeing purposes and to seriously study the possibility of developing and promoting the island.

Serrano identified the interested Korean group as the Seoul Consulting Corporation, the same group which will provide a P4-million (US$79,051) investment for the site development of the PTA-run golf club in Calarian in this east coast of this city.
