TAIWAN VP INVITES ITALY TO INVEST IN LOCAL TOURIST MARKET.
TAIPEI, May 1 Asia Pulse - Taiwan is actively developing tourism and welcomes the Italian tourism industry to invest in the island, said Vice President Annette Lu.
Lu made the remarks when she received Custavo Selva, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of Italy's Congress, at the Presidential Office.
Noting that Italy is world renowned for its tourism with its beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage, the vice president expressed the hope that Italy would invest in Taiwan's tourism.
Selva said during the meeting that his committee would assist Taiwan's bid to join international organizations, especially the World Health Organization.
Trade relations between Italy and Taiwan are close, he said, but there is room for growth, especially in cultural exchanges, since both countries have rich ...
