Pretoria police on Thursday arrested 18 illegal immigrants and recovered stolen goods worth thousands as part of the crime prevention strategy known as Operation Tsipa. Police spokesman Inspector Percy Morokane said the police started by raiding three premises in Pretoria West. A Malawian citizen was arrested and stolen goods worth at least R150000 recovered. The stolen goods included computers and television sets. An industrial welding machine was also recovered. Morokane said police then received information about illegal immigrants at Marabastad, near the Pretoria city centre. Eleven illegal Pakistani immigrants and a Mozambican was arrested.
