The Siam Cement board announced the company will pay dividends for the first time since 1998, Krungthep Turakij reported.
On 22 April Siam Cement will pay dividends of ten baht a share for its 2001 performance. In 2001 the companies in the Siam Cement group made net profits of 7.634 billion baht, up from net losses of 473 million baht the year before. Cement sales came to 24.183 billion baht, about the same as in 2000. Petrochemicals sales dropped slightly to 38.152 billion baht due to a drop in world petrochemicals prices.
