Ned Kelly.(Poem)

 
   I am a bush sculptor at heart, 
   the establishment wasn't ready 
   for my rough hewn depiction 
   of knights in armour, 
   I hadn't even reached the heralding part 
   before the constabulary fired on me 
   so  I quickly invented "such is life" 
   when I really wanted something like 
   "march on life". 
 
   Using whatever farm tools came to hand 
   inventing a boy's game of cops and robbers 
   and knights in sturdy farm armour, 
   the mask was to fight all the natural foes, 
   bushfire, drought, loneliness. 
 
   I was even thinking of a theme park of my own
