In another terrorist incident, at around 2:15 a.m. on March 5th a gunman armed with an M-16 rifle opened fire at the Seafood Market disco, an all-night restaurant in Tel Aviv, then entered the establishment and continued the assault, eventually killing three persons and wounding more than two dozen. He also stabbed a number of people with a knife and reportedly attempted to detonate a hand grenade that failed to explode.

The casualty count would undoubtedly have been even higher had not an armed patron eventually shot and killed the terrorist. William Hazan, a shoe salesman, told Israel Radio that he and his wife dived under a table when bullets began flying.
