In his letter "Guns, Governments and Terror" in the March 25, 2002 issue of THE NEW AMERICAN, David Eisenberg says that "the Iranian shipment of 50 tons of arms and explosives to the terrorist PLO" may have been paid for "with money supplied by American taxpayers through the U.S. government's foreign aid program."
Could be. How about the shipments of arms, explosives, and military equipment to Israel that are, and have been paid for, for 54 years, "with money supplied by American taxpayers, through the U.S. government's foreign aid program"? The former, Mr. Eisenberg says, is "bothersome." The latter, apparently, is not, either to Mr. Eisenberg or to THE NEW AMERICAN. And the latter, as you well know, exceeds the former exponentially, and by decades.
Although I am not on the Council of The John Birch Society, I am, as Mr. Eisenberg probably is also, a Jew. Yet I find the latter "bothersome," also. But what I find most bothersome is THE NEW ...
