I found Steve Bonta's article "Is It Only Rock 'n' Roll?" (April 8th issue) not fitting for such a fine publication as THE NEW AMERICAN.
Now 48 years old, a Christian, a believer in the Constitution, and an avid Bircher, I remember my first Beatles album I got at age 10. By age 15 I was playing guitar with a couple of buddies anticipating the release of the next Rolling Stones or The Who album. The song writing of Lenon/McCartney and Jagger/Richards is nothing short of masterful, regardless of their ideals being put forth in the lyrics.
I knew most of the lyrics by heart. As for Bonta's reference to Lennon's "Imagine," I knew that Lennon was merely fantasizing of a perfect world that both ...
