More than 10 years ago, NewTek introduced Video Toaster, a combination of hardware and software for the Amiga platform that made video post production possible on the desktop. Two years ago, NewTek introduced Toaster for Windows and this year, the company has rolled out Video Toaster 2, a Windows 2000-based production environment for the desktop that can process uncompressed video in real time. Other capabilities of the new system include live keying, Internet streaming, real-time nonlinear editing, character generation, video painting and compositing, 3D animation, and audio and video processing.
