Fluent 6.0, the latest version of Fluent's computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, comes with improvements in three major areas: modeling, parallel processing, and usability. Modeling advances include the ability to handle engineering problems involving multiphase physics, rotating equipment, and combustion. Tools that enable a user to create a moving, deforming mesh for the analysis of in-cylinder engine performance are also new, though the company notes that these are still in beta phase.

Although previous versions of Fluent have supported parallel processing, Version 6.0 offers dynamic load balancing and other ...
