Plain peanuts not your thing? You now have a choice of other butters, including apple, berry, and two other types we tested--chocolate peanut butter and soynut butter.
Chocolate peanut butter. Skippy Doubly Delicious with Nestle's Toll House Semi Sweet Morsels, 35 cents per serving, was very good overall. It had a complex, moderately roasted peanut flavor complemented by a dark-chocolate flavor. It was quite sweet, moderately salty, and slightly gritty.
Jif Smooth Sensations Chocolate Silk, 31 cents per serving, was smoother than Skippy but scored only good overall, mostly because milk chocolate masked some of the peanut flavor.
Nutritionally, both products were similar to regular peanut butter, with a bit less sodium.
