To mark the fiftieth anniversary of the queen's accession to the throne, the drawings exhibition at Waddesdon Manor near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire is devoted to a royal theme. It features eighteenth-century French designs for furniture, state apartments, ornaments, and ironwork. The designs, all from the Waddesdon collection, are for a range of objects and decorative schemes that would have been commissioned by the French court.
The exhibition is entitled Royalty: 18th Century French Drawings at Waddesdon Manor. The themes of the exhibition are architecture and ornament, interiors, royal events, and allegory.
