Hello Bill,

The tripod for your 35mm camera was designed to help you take the steadiest picture possible given your camera's size and to hold cameras that weigh up to about a pound. If you use it with your camcorder, you will run into a big problem, not necessarily a result of a heavier camcorder--the problem being the panning, or tilting, feature or, rather a lack thereof.
