Scottish police have hit out at employers who forced drivers to carry on working during the recent storms. More than 60 trucks turned over and two drivers were killed in Scotland (seven in total in the UK) as hurricane-force winds created chaos on the roads at the end of January.
Fife Constabulary expressed sympathy for the drivers but warned that transport firms should not insist journeys be completed if impossible driving conditions occur again. But the RHA said 'there are inevitably going to be deliveries that can't be put off'.
