SEOUL, April 1 Asia Pulse - Hanaro Telecom in a Monday disclosure said that it has suspended merger talks with Thrunet, citing the sale of Thrunet's exclusive circuit business to SK Telecom.
Hanaro said that Thrunet offered to sell other assets, including its Internet operations to Hanaro, when given notice about the contract with SK Telecom. However, Hanaro rejected the offer as Thrunet minus its exclusive circuit business offers little synergy effect, according to the disclosure at the Korea Stock Exchange.
