TOKYO, April 1 Asia Pulse - Nippon Light Metal Co. (TSE:5701) said Friday that it will spin off its Toyo aluminum operating division, which produces aluminum foil and other products, and merge it with its aluminum sales subsidiary, Toyo Aluminium KK, on Oct. 1.

As a result of a decline in demand for information equipment, sales of aluminum products such as aluminum foil, powder and paste have been sluggish. By integrating the production and sales operations, Nippon Light Metal aims to improve efficiency.
