Boxx Technologies is shipping two new workstation lines that are aimed at digital artists, game developers, and animators. Both the 3DBoxx R1 and the RenderBoxx RI series are based on the AMD Athlon MP processor and are designed for creating and rendering 3D content using programs such as Alias|Wavefront's Maya, Discreet's 3ds max, Softimage|XSI, NewTek's LightWave 3D, and Side Effects Software's Houdini.

The AMD processor's full and rather lengthy name is the AMD Athlon MP Processor 1900+ with QuantiSpeed Architecture and Smart MP Technology. AMD's proprietary QuantiSpeed architecture includes a high-performance full-speed cache with hardware data pre-fetch, a pipelined superscalar floating-point engine, and the company's L2 Translation Look-aside Buffer.
