Solidworks' new collaboration workspace, 3D TeamWorks, provides project team members with secure online access to design data. The Web-based environment allows the head team member, called the "owner," to upload data--a product design, for example--to a central server where it can be viewed and reviewed in real time by other team members. The owner can invite other team members to join in via email, and can also control each member's data access. Access options include the ability to view, mark up, and measure both 2D and 3D data, and to convert to and from multiple CAD formats with TeamWorks' online format engine.
