When Nisys and FileNet began looking for opportunities to serve the mortgage industry with new technology, they found the origination and servicing sectors served by a crowded field of technology vendors.
But they also found gaps between the different loan functions that were in need of attention, said Jim Gaines, business development manager for Nisys, based in Indianapolis.
The two companies jointly developed Acenza for mortgage lending, a technology designed to facilitate "straight-through processing" and create a bridge between two "islands of automation," loan origination and loan servicing, the companies say.
Mr. Gaines said that FileNet brings extensive automation tools, such as imaging services, and workflow process management expertise to the technology. Nisys brought its domain expertise relevant to the mortgage industry to the equation.
