General American Corp. here, a national technology solutions provider to the real estate settlement services industry, has released an ASP version of its GATORS order management and fulfillment system used by settlement service companies and title insurance agents.
"GATORS ASP is an affordable title and vendor management production system, that is user friendly, exceedingly scalable and provides a comprehensive technological solution for vendor managers and title agencies," said Chris Behning, General American's chief technology officer.
Mr. Behning and his team have been in the vendor management software business for some time. He told National Mortgage News that the GATORS product had been tested internally long before it was released.
"We had built it in-house for General American two years before we licensed it to the public," Mr. Behning said. "So we were already using it within the walls of GAC and getting all the bugs out of it."
Today, GATORS customers include Old Republic Title, Intuit's Title Source, Centex Title and Trans Continental Title.
The new ASP model will allow companies who haven't used GAC's software to give it a try, Mr. Behning said.
"The ASP has allowed us to open up the GATORS technology to a lot more customers," Mr. Behning said. "We see a lot of startups out there that do not want to invest in the IT infrastructure, the personnel, the servers, the server licenses.
