David Moritz Michael. Parthien 10-14. Pacific Classical Winds. New World 805502, 2001.
Born and raised in Germany, the Moravian composer David Moritz Michael moved in 1795 to Pennsylvania, where he served as a music director for the Moravian communities of Nazareth and Bethlehem. He wrote a number of chamber works for winds, all of them in the high classical style of Mozart and Haydn. Most of those works have now been recorded by the Pacific Classical Winds (playing period instruments) and issued by New World Records.
