Nov. 9--A film based on the experiences of an Alabamian who fought in World War I will debut today at the Alabama Department of History and Archives.

Two days before Veterans Day and 87 years after the armistice was signed to end the first world war, "Company K" will be presented in Montgomery at noon today at the Archives' Alabama Power Auditorium at 624 Washington Ave.

The film, which is based on a book of the same name by Mobile native William March, has been compared to another World War I novel, "All Quiet On The Western Front," said filmmaker and Birmingham native Robert Clem.
