For general managers around the NFL, the words "Houston Texans" are so frightening they could be used interchangeably with the interjection "boo!" The mere mention of the expansion team causes complexions to go from healthy to ashen; expressions from confident to helpless; pants from dry to wet.

Player agents, meanwhile, daydream of the Texans and plot their early retirements. Free agents-to-be all around the country have been fitted for ostrich-skin boots.
